German Exchange

GCSE and A Level German students travelled to Göttingen in Germany at the end of February for the German Exchange, accompanied by pupils and staff from Denmark Road High School. This is the 46th year of the Exchange with Otto Hahn Gymnasium in Göttingen (Cheltenham’s twin town), and the programme is a fantastic opportunity for students to develop their language skills and explore new cultures. We enjoyed a week of immersion in German culture, including a trip to Berlin, sampling different foods, exploring new towns and, of course, speaking lots of the language.
The highlight of the trip for many was the opportunity to visit Musa, a large arts venue where students learnt about street art and created their own stencils. Pupils then spray painted their stencils to create a banner for each school, marking the close and enduring relationship between all three schools.
