House Drama took place last Friday, bringing together pupils from across the school for a celebration of performance, creativity and House spirit. The event gave pupils the opportunity to work collaboratively, develop their confidence and showcase their dramatic talents in front of an appreciative audience. Each House presented a pantomime, with a wide range of familiar stories brought to life through imaginative staging, humour and strong teamwork:

• Northgate – Snow White
• Southgate – Robin Hood
• Eastgate – Cinderella
• Westgate – Jack and the Beanstalk
• Newgate – Beauty and the Beast

The staff Head of Houses made special cameo appearances, and all the performances were very well received, with pupils demonstrating comic timing, enthusiasm, collaboration and commitment throughout. Westgate took the win, but it was a very close run competition!

Well done to all involved for making House Drama a successful and memorable event, and a special mention goes to Year 13 pupil Harvey from Southgate House who very kindly stepped in at the last minute as the cow in Westgate’s Jack and the Beanstalk performance.

House Drama results:

• 1st Westgate 10 points
• Joint 2nd Eastgate and Southgate 8 points each
• 3rd Northgate 6 points
• 4th Newgate 4 points

This means the overall House points table currently stands at:

• 1st Southgate 31 points
• 2nd Westgate 29 points
• 3rd Eastgate 23 points
• 4th Newgate 20 points
