Year 12 economists Harry C, Harry Y, Olly G and John S represented Rich’s on Wednesday at the semi-finals of the Institute of Economic Affairs (IEA) Budget Challenge. They placed in the top 20 out of 200 entries – an incredible achievement! The team had to initially write an essay conducting an outlook of the macroeconomic conditions for the UK alongside a budget proposal. The team then advanced to the semi-finals at the University of Buckingham, where they delivered an excellent presentation on their proposed taxation and spending decisions, as well as answering questions from a panel of judges where they defended their policy decisions confidently and in a well-informed manner.
