A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated, outstanding teacher to lead our successful English Department. This permanent, full-time post would be particularly well-suited to an ambitious practitioner ready to progress in their career. The English Department at Sir Thomas Rich’s School comprises teachers who are hardworking, passionate about language and literature and whose primary aim is to develop pupils' skills in reading, writing, speaking and listening. At present, English is taught by nine teachers, from Key Stage 3 up to A Level and Oxbridge entry; a close knit and supportive team who work together to develop schemes of work and teaching resources to engage our able pupils through innovative teaching and learning strategies, and share best practice. Teachers all contribute to the Department's extracurricular programme, and currently we run a Shakespeare Society including regular visits to the RSC, creative writing competitions and book clubs for each key stage.
