School Closure on Friday 18 February
Published Thursday 17 February 2022 by MPH
In light of the Met Office weather warning for Friday 18 February, we have taken the decision to close the School tomorrow. This decision has not been taken lightly and has been made with careful consideration of the advice from the local authority, the safety of pupils and staff, as well as the significant number of pupils who will be travelling to school from a Met Office red alert area.
Following our detailed risk assessment of the situation, subject teachers will upload lesson content for Friday 18 February to Satchel One and will deliver a Teams lesson where possible. However, we would like to note that a significant number of staff are away on the Year 7 Lakeside trip, therefore any cover lessons will not be delivered remotely.
Staff on the Year 7 Lakeside trip are liaising closely with the coach company and, at the moment, there are no planned changes to the arrival time in school. However, should the situation change, parents of Year 7 pupils will be informed directly.
We appreciate the disruption this may cause for some families but hope that you can understand the need for us to consider the safest option given the information we have at present.
