Shaping Futures

Local primary school pupils have been enjoying workshops at Sir Thomas Rich’s this week in Business Studies, Art and Food Tech. Helped by Sixth Form mentors, they worked in groups to come up with concepts for new chocolate bars, designed the packaging and then brought the product to life!
The pupils, who are from a range of schools in the area, will be with us every two weeks for workshops and 11+ familiarisation support as part of our Shaping Futures programme, which we run with the aim of widening access to grammar school education for Year 4 and Year 5 students in our local community.
The programme offers access to enrichment sessions and 11+ Maths and English support through the Skyward Kids 11+ Familiarisation platform.
All seven grammar schools in the county are now running Shaping Futures. If there are any Gloucestershire primary schools interested in putting students forward for the Sir Thomas Rich’s programme, contact the Shaping Futures Lead Ellen Howell on [email protected].
